Pink Martini spreads the joy at Massey Hall

Pink Martini’s fourth and newest album is the Christmas-themed Joy To The World. But anyone present at their live concert at Massey Hall on Friday night knew immediately that this band’s joy knows no season.

This was the fourth Toronto visit by this genre-defying doozy of a dozen from Portland, Ore. And it was the most fun.

Pink Martini welcomed the full house with its trademark take on Maurice Ravel’s famous Boléro, led by pianist Thomas M. Lauderdale’s stylish arabesques at the keyboard.
